Well, what can we say? Another amazing UBF for MISTER WOLF!
Thursday night at the Star Inn was a beautiful balmy evening which saw us play to a capacity crowd for well over three hours – they were 100% with us right from the start and their singing must have been heard miles away!
Then the rains came…we’ve been playing this fantastic festival for over a decade now and in all that time this was by far the worst weather we’ve ever encountered.
Saturday midday at the Plough was a test of logistics for us but also proof of the resilience and fortitude of the fans that support the UBF every year – another great crowd, sporting rainwear of every type and hue, stuck with us right through and treated the abysmal conditions with the contempt they deserved. One very soggy load out later, a quick trip home to pick up dry kit and have a cuppa, then it was back for Round Three…
Saturday evening at the Swan, following the majestic Steve Ajao Blues Giants. Another very tough logistical challenge given the crowds and conditions but eventually overcome, a bit late and definitely damp around the edges but WOW! Right from the intro tape it was Singalong Central, the crowd packing the courtyard and road all the way down to the river. Once again, the spirit of what is surely one of the UK’s most dedicated festival crowds gave us another amazing night, one that will live long in the band’s memory.
From John, Ash, Chris and Dave, a sincere THANK YOU to everyone that came to see us in Upton. The lousy weather didn’t stop you from having a blast and it was our privilege to play for you once again. We’ve already been rebooked for our now-traditional Thursday night slot at the Star Inn and also for the 9pm Saturday slot at the Swan for 2024, so only 364 days to go until we do it all again! Cheers!!!
